Transfer Friendly
There is no limit to the number of credit hours you can transfer to CMU; however, we have a graduation requirement that 30 credit hours be earned from CMU and 60 credit hours be earned from a four-year institution.Â
Credit for What You Already Know
Many programs offer Prior Learning Credit (PLC), which recognizes college-level knowledge gained through work experience, military training, certifications or previous coursework. Eligible students may apply up to 60 undergraduate credits. Â
Accelerated Masterâs Pathway
In select programs, you may apply up to 18 credits from your bachelorâs toward the Master of Science in Administration (MSA), Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Science in Information Systems (MSIS), Master of Public Administration (MPA), Master of Public Health, Master of Arts in Higher Education Administration and Social Justice (MAHESJ) or Master of Arts in Special Education (MA SPE).Â

- Health Sciences : Promote healthier communities through education, prevention, and wellness programming.

Concentrations:
- Ergonomic : Improve how people work by designing safer, more efficient workplace systems. This program combines business fundamentals with hands-on training in operations, safety, and process improvement. You’ll gain practical skills you can apply immediately in industries like manufacturing, healthcare, logistics, and corporate operations, all while building a strong foundation for leadership or future graduate studies.
- Personnel : Become a confident leader who will support people, processes and teams in todayâs workplace. This program blends practical coursework in employment law, public relations, team dynamics, communication and human resource management with real-world administrative skills you can use from day one. Youâll learn how to navigate workplace challenges, communicate effectively, resolve conflict and make decisions that help organizations succeed.
Frequently Asked Questions
Undergraduates may bring a significant number of credits from regionally accredited institutions; specific totals depend on your program and prior coursework. A minimum of sixty credit hours in your bachelorâs must be earned at regionally accredited, degree-granting 4-year institutions and thirty credits must be earned at CMU.
Undergraduate transfer courses require C- or better (competency courses require C or better).
Completing the MTA (minimum 30 credits) at a Michigan community college satisfies CMUâs University Program general education. Each course must be 2.0+ and meet distribution requirements in composition, communications, social sciences, natural sciences (with lab), humanities/fine arts, and quantitative reasoning.
